I miss your warmth beside me and I know it’s not all about the warmth but just cuddling with you was a great way to show affection. Like when we had one of those cold and rainy days and we stayed in and I would cover ourselves with the blankets so we would have to have that skin to skin contact, that’s what I miss. Because isn’t it a beautiful thing to share closeness with someone. Ever just lay down and listen to their heartbeat? It’s so amazing, It’s so alive, so intricate, so right there. The simple idea that when you hug that person their hearts a little faster because of you. The simple beating of a heart can put someone’s life into a precious perspective, especially when you realize that heart is beating for you.
Try cuddling in silence and really get in tune with one another. The cold rainy days are just a great excuse to make that happen. I believe the hot days are about freedom and the cold ones are about being together. So when it gets cold outside, use this time to retreat and snuggle up with that special someone. It’s the little things that make a person know they are loved and appreciated. Holding a person close to you for an extended period of time is a good way to get back to the basics and cuddling is a basic necessity that should not be overlooked. It is a subtle, silent yet intense connection that your soul will appreciate once your bodies gently collide. <3
